Modern Design Review has invited Fabien Cappello to create an installation that is a response to the exisiting functional space of the lobby at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. Fabien Cappello contemplates ‘comfort’ and ‘softness’ as part of his installation; the existing ‘hard’ furniture from the lobby will be taken away and replaced with a landscape of bean bags to exaggerate the existing relaxed atmosphere of the lobby. The bags are created in a palette of fabrics; both loud and quiet, designed to work in unison and give an overview of contemporary textile design.
